Bear River (again)

Some were taken with teleconverters borrowed from Sputzie (thank you!)....I need to take better notes on which ones were.  Loving the new 70-200... focus stays put much better than other lens.

Rufous Hummingbird

He's back and is a little terror at the feeder!  First time I've seen him this year.

Glacier NP - 6 Jul

I broke camp early in the morning and drove the "Going to the Sun" road.

The clouds were coming in over Logan's Pass.  You can see the road on the left of the picture.  When I got to the pass, it was white-out conditions.

Glacier NP - 5 Jul

Bowman Lake is more wooded than the 'east side of park', so there weren't many views.  However, there were many wildflowers!

Orchids!  Spotted Coral Root

When I asked the campground ranger about orchids, he mentioned the Bog Orchid nearby.  Cool, two wild orchids in one trip!

I then ventured to the main side of the park.  Avalanche Lake:

When I got back to Bowman, a storm was brewing:

Glacier NP - 4 Jul

I decided to explore Glacier NP over the long weekend.  It was an adventure.  I camped again, while at a front country campground, it was pretty far from civilization.  The closed 'town' was 7 miles, but it took almost 1/2 hr to travel there due to the road.  Calling Polebridge a town may be a stretch.  It had a mercantile (with wonderful pastries) and a bar.  That was about it.

4 Jul:

 Bowman Lake

From Numa Lookout

Pano from lookout.  My campground is at far end of the lake.  It's a 5 mile hike with 3000' elevation to get to lookout.  Lake is 6 miles long.

Not sure, but liked the composition
